LongLite ™, LLC Has been Awarded a State of Connecticut Lamp Contract

New York, New York - February, 2004 - Long Lite announced that it has been awarded a State of Connecticut contract [02-PSX0266AK] by the Department of Administrative Services [DAS], as a environmentally preferred product.  DAS, which oversees state purchasing, has taken on an added role of promoting the Environmentally Preferable Purchasing [EPP] program among other state agencies, municipalities, and not-for-profits.

"We are committed to expanding the use of environmentally preferable products and services that reuse and recycle materials, minimize waste, conserve energy and contain fewer toxic chemicals," said DAS Commissioner Barbara Waters.

There is already a wide range of environmentally friendly products available on DAS state contracts: lamps, paper products, office supplies, remanufactured toner cartridges, re-refined motor oil, retread tires, recycled content carpet tiles and recycled content traffic cones.

"We think we are way ahead of the national curve on this," said Waters. "Not only is this service something other state agencies are eager to take advantage of, but we have also gotten requests from a number of other states for a copy of the RFP's we issued, so we have every reason to believe we are on the front end of the whole EPP movement," Waters said.

"LongLite's QL-3 energy saving product line supports the DAS/EPP commitment to provide environmentally preferable purchasing for State agencies," said Jeffrey Drubner President of LongLite.  Connecticut is experiencing unnacceptable pollution and energy shortfalls in certain geographical areas.  Our products will considerably help the State in responding to these issues.  The State operates hundreds of thousands of sockets.  Accordingly, our products will have a significant impact on emissions, energy consumption and on the State's budget," Drubner said.
