Spa and Hot Tub Hard Cover - Core Foam - Step 3

Core Foam - Insulation Density and Strength

Choose the Cover Foam and Support options available in Standard Core, Deluxe Core, or Premium Core:

Standard Core - One pound density virgin foam; tapered 4" to 2 1/2" thick; insulation retains heats, but core only supports its own weight - it is not designed to support additional weight such as persons, pets,or snowfall. Best for indoor use, or outdoor use in mild climates

Deluxe Core - Two pound high density virgin foam tapered 4" to 2 1/2" thick; provides significantly higher insulation value to retain more heat, plus supports up to 75 pounds per side of live or dead weight such as small children, pets, or light snow fall

Premium Core - Two pound high density virgin foam flat 3" thick, with extra reinforced Walk-on Strength Aluminum Facing; provides same higher insulation factor as Deluxe Core, plus will support up to 300 lbs per side of live or dead weight such as adults, large pets, or heavy snow and ice accumulation

NOTE: Walk-on Cover does not have a hinge; Heavy Duty Velcro strips are used to connect the two pieces together.  This allows the cover to be separated into two pieces to ease placement and removal. Lifters are not recommended for use with Walk-on Covers due to the additional weight of the cover.

R - Value varies due to taper and density: R-15 through R-19
