- Easiest, simplest, and best : drain the pool and refill with fresh water. If unable to drain completely, drain as much as you can and top off with fresh water.
- Super chlorinate with triple dose chlorine shock. Apply at sundown; run pump a couple of hours, then turn off for the night.
- Yellow dust will settle overnight to the bottom. Vacuum up in the morning, but without stirring up the water.
- Repeat the next evening and again if necessary, until no fallout exists in the morning.
- Once cleared of old chemistry, begin floating your Floatron per instructions. Once the chlorine falls to 1 ppm or less, begin adding more chlorine to keep the residual at approx 1 ppm. Ensure ph 7.2 – 7.8; adjust as necessary.
Notes:
- Filter media may need changing if a few years old.
- Combination of baquacil or softswim brand product with chlorine can result in a brownish scum at surface.
