1. Easiest, simplest, and best : drain the pool and refill with fresh water.  If unable to drain completely, drain as much as you can and top off with fresh water.
2. Super chlorinate with triple dose chlorine shock.  Apply at sundown; run pump a couple of hours, then turn off for the night.
3. Yellow dust will settle overnight to the bottom.  Vacuum up in the morning, but without stirring up the water.
4. Repeat the next evening and again if necessary, until no fallout exists in the morning.
5. Once cleared of old chemistry, begin floating your Floatron per instructions.  Once the chlorine falls to 1 ppm or less, begin adding more chlorine to keep the residual at approx 1 ppm.  Ensure ph 7.2 – 7.8; adjust as necessary. 

Notes:

1. Filter media may need changing if a few years old.
2. Combination of baquacil or softswim brand product with chlorine can result in a brownish scum at surface.
